What is PliumPic?
PliumPic is an iPhone and iPad app that automatically shares the photos and videos taken during a trip or event between everyone on it. You create a trip with dates and optionally a place, pair with the people you’re travelling with, and photos taken inside that window sync directly between your devices at full resolution. There is no server, no account and no cloud storage.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. PliumPic transfers everything directly between nearby devices using Wi-Fi Aware: no internet or cloud involved. Nothing is uploaded anywhere; everything stays on your devices.
How does photo and video syncing work?
PliumPic syncs directly between paired devices: either device-to-device over Wi-Fi Aware, or over the same local Wi-Fi network. When nearby devices share a trip and the app is open, media taken within the trip’s date range syncs based on your approval settings. The app needs to stay open because syncing requires an active session to discover and communicate with nearby devices.
Can I control which photos and videos are shared?
Yes. Each trip has separate controls for outgoing and incoming media. Set Outgoing Photos to Manual Approval and every item you share must be approved first - you can also revoke approval for anything not yet synced. Set Incoming Photos to Manual Approval and you review each batch before accepting it. Defaults for new trips live in Settings under Sync Settings.
What about my privacy?
All transfers happen directly between paired devices: your media moves device-to-device and is not uploaded anywhere. It is only shared with devices you have explicitly paired with, and within trips you have joined, encrypted in transit with mutual TLS so only your paired devices can connect. The App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected: no analytics, no advertising identifiers, no tracking. PliumPic never asks for location access either: when a trip matches photos by place, it reads the location your camera already embedded in the photo, on your device.
How many people can join a trip?
A free trip holds up to 5 devices. PliumPic+ raises that to 25 devices on every trip you’re in, and the higher limit applies to everyone on the trip - so only one participant needs it. The limit counts devices rather than people, so someone bringing both an iPhone and an iPad takes two places. PliumPic+ unlocks no other feature; it’s available as an annual subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase.
Will it use a lot of battery?
PliumPic is designed for minimal battery usage. It only actively syncs when paired devices are nearby, and large files are transferred in efficient resumable chunks.
What happens if a transfer is interrupted?
Large transfers are split into chunks and progress is saved automatically. If the app closes or devices move apart, the transfer picks up from where it left off the next time your devices are near each other during the trip.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet: PliumPic is currently iOS only. We’re exploring an Android version, and since Wi-Fi Aware is available on Android too, cross-platform syncing may be possible down the road.
