PliumPic Support
Answers to the questions that come up most - and how to reach a person when they don’t cover it.
Getting in touch
PliumPic is made by one person, so every message is read and answered by the developer. Please allow a few days for a reply.
Email: info@pliumpic.app
If you are reporting something that went wrong, write from inside the App instead: Settings → Contact Support opens an email with your app version, device and iOS version already filled in, so you don’t have to look any of it up. For a syncing problem, Settings → Export Logs produces a log file you can attach to that email - it stays on your device until you send it yourself.
Common questions
These are the same answers the App gives under Settings → Help & FAQ, so you get the same reply whether you look here or there.
How does photo and video syncing work?
PliumPic syncs photos and videos directly between paired devices: either device-to-device over Wi-Fi Aware, or over the same local Wi-Fi network. When nearby devices share a trip and the app is open, media taken within the trip’s date range is synced based on your approval settings. The app needs to stay open because syncing requires an active session to discover and communicate with nearby devices.
Does it work without internet?
Yes! PliumPic transfers everything directly between nearby devices using Wi-Fi Aware: no internet or cloud involved. Nothing is uploaded anywhere; everything stays on your devices.
How do I pair with another device?
On the Devices tab, tap the + button. One device selects ‘Show Code’ and the other selects ‘Enter Code’. This is a one-time setup: paired devices will find each other automatically after that.
How do I share a trip with someone?
Open the trip and tap the QR code button to display a code. The other person can scan it with PliumPic, or with the iPhone Camera app: a scanned invite opens PliumPic on the join screen. Both devices must be paired to sync media.
How many people can join a trip?
A free trip holds up to 5 devices. PliumPic+ raises that to 25 devices on every trip you’re in, and the higher limit applies to everyone on the trip - so only one participant needs it. The limit counts devices rather than people, so someone bringing both an iPhone and an iPad takes two places. PliumPic+ unlocks no other feature; it’s available as an annual subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase.
Can I control which photos and videos are shared?
Yes. Each trip has separate controls for outgoing and incoming media. Set Outgoing Photos to Manual Approval and every photo or video you share must be approved first - you can also revoke approval for items that haven’t been synced yet. Set Incoming Photos to Manual Approval and you review the size and count of each batch before accepting it. The default modes for new trips can be changed in Settings under Sync Settings.
What about my privacy?
All transfers happen directly between paired devices: your media moves device-to-device and is not uploaded anywhere. It is only shared with devices you have explicitly paired with and within trips you have joined.
Will it use a lot of battery?
PliumPic is designed for minimal battery usage. It only actively syncs when paired devices are nearby, and large files are transferred in efficient resumable chunks.
How do I block or remove a device?
On the Devices tab, swipe left on a paired device and tap Block to stop syncing with it - blocked devices move to the Blocked section, where you can swipe left and tap Unblock to restore them. To unpair a device entirely, swipe left and tap Remove. If you pair with it again later it’ll reconnect instantly, with no code needed. To permanently forget a device at the system level, also remove it in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Paired Devices.
What happens if a transfer is interrupted?
Large transfers are split into chunks and progress is saved automatically. If the app closes or devices move apart, the transfer picks up from where it left off the next time your devices are near each other during the trip.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet: PliumPic is currently iOS only. We’re exploring an Android version, and since Wi-Fi Aware is available on Android too, cross-platform syncing between iOS and Android may be possible down the road.
